July Newsletter

Howdy folks.
Hope everyone is well. All is green and growing here at Rose Mountain Farm. The squash is starting to come in as well as some more greens and lettuces. The tomato crop is looking poor unless something changes. I have purchased more plants and am hoping for the best. I am planting a variety of early beans this week. The baby pak choi is doing well. No kohlrabi yet, but its growing. Eggs stay sold out. Thanks to all of you who visit the Ashe County Farmers Market. The sows are to be bred next week to offer a fall litter of pigglets. I still have a few 3 month-old chicks to offer at $5.00 each. A gang of muscovy duckling (24) that I hatched are doing well and will be ready for processing the first week of September. Farm fresh whole hog sausage will be ready the week after the 4th of July. Feel free to email or call for farm pick-ups. I plan to have eggs and vegetables available for sale during the farm tour on July 22-23 from 1 pm to 5 pm each day, tickets can be purchased at the Ashe County farmers market in July for the High Country farm tour.
