Website Updates!

Howdy ya'll -

A quick note to inform you that the website has been updated. The changes are subtle; most you won't notice, but here are a few you should:

  • The picture on the about page has been changed to show off my new mule, Big Jim, standing beside my dad.

  • We are out of turkeys this year already! Thanks to those who purchased them from me, and I promise to have some ready for next year.

  • Dr. Jane Goodall has a new book out, called Harvest for Hope, a Guide to Mindful Eating. In it she discusses organics, buying local, and sustainability. It can also be found on Amazon and Half.com.

  • I've added apple cider vinegar to the store for $2.00/12oz. bottle

  • Sauerkraut is available for $3.00 quart in the online store.

  • Spiced and Vanilla Applebutters are still available, as is the Pumpkin Butter. (see next post)

  • If you wish to order spring poultry or fall turkeys, please email me (ann [at] rosemountainfarm [DOT] com) your intent with 20 percent down for orders as soon as possible, so I don't run out next year!

October/November Newsletter

Howdy Folks,

Hope that all my receipients are well and warm. Things have begun to slow down for now. The farm has aquired a new worker named Big Jim, a 1300-pound mule that is seven years old and has, in one week, earned his keep logging fire wood. (He also rides great.) The gardens are long past, and a special thanks to all of you who purchased vegetables from the farmer's market and the farm this year. I am planning on doubling production next year. (with the help of Big Jim).
We currently have spiced applebutter for sale. There are about 15 pints remaining at $4.00 per pint or $8.00 per quart plus shipping and handling outside Ashe County. A few jars of vanilla applebutter and a few jars of pumpkinbutter remain, for the same prices.

I will be starting kraut production in about a week. It will be left to work in a stone crock while i go to California. My oldest daughter will be deployed overseas for a year, so I am going to see her off.

Remember, if any one has a special request for a specific vegetable, please let me know early so that I may start looking for heirloom seed.

Stay safe, eat well, stay healthy.
