About our Farm
Rose Mountain Farm is located in Ashe County N.C. The farm is mostly south facing with fresh running springs and large hardwoods. 20 acres of rotated pasture for raising hogs. 2 acres of fruit trees, and 1 acre of orgainc vegetable garden and 1/2 acre of space for shiitake mushroom production.
The hog pastures vary in size and terrain. The lower winter field is planted in pumpkins in the summer and the hogs are moved back to forage on the pumpkins in late fall. The spring field is mostly grasses and divided into sections. The summer field has a high and low end to allow for a dry wallow and a wet wallow. The fall pasture is under the hardwoods where the hogs forage on hickory nuts and accorns. Finished on nuts and pumpkiins they are then processd into the finest tasting pork around. The natural forage and milk supplements make the most unique flavor for grilling or roasting your favorite pork cuts.
